Ex-prisoner of Saratov prison OTB-1 Sergey Savelyev, who passed the video archive of torture to human rights activists, was put on the wanted list. On October 18, Savelyev asked for political asylum in France. The day before, he had taken the video archive of torture of prisoners out of Russia, which he handed over to human rights activists from Gulagu.net. The Investigative Committee opened a total of seven cases after publications about cases of violence against convicts in the region.
Oleg Sopotsinsky commented to Kommersant FM - how could the case develop further? How will Russian law enforcement authorities and the defendant's lawyers act in connection with Savelyev's plans to obtain political asylum? How realistic is it to seek political asylum in France? What are the practices, assumptions, forecasts?
