Investigators opened a criminal case under the article on homicide by common danger method after the car in which the journalist and political analyst Daria Dugina was traveling was blown up. The Moscow Region Prosecutor's Office took the case under control.

According to the IC, Daria Dugina died at 9 p. m. on August 20 as a result of the explosion of a device which was allegedly installed in a Toyota Land Cruiser. According to investigators, it went off near the village of Bolshiye Vyazemi, at full throttle, then the car ignited and collided with a bump. The female driver, who was behind the wheel, died on the spot.
It has already been established that the explosive device was placed under the car from the driver's side, reported in the Investigative Committee. Given the data obtained, the investigation believes that the crime, which resulted in the death of Dugina, had been planned in advance and was of a contractual nature. Head of the Investigative Committee Alexander Bastrykin instructed to transfer the criminal case to the Main Investigative Directorate.

"Investigative divisions qualified this crime as a particularly grave one. The socially dangerous way of committing murder implies that this crime can affect other people, because the explosive device was placed in the car and no one knew how many people could be around. In view of this, such a crime is considered to be more serious than mere intentional homicide. Such crimes are punishable by imprisonment, in the form of life imprisonment. And the reasons for the crime will be investigated. We can only hope that the system of "smart cameras" will help to identify the persons who attached this explosive device to the car, some modern systems will help to understand how this explosive device was activated, and this will help to identify the perpetrators of the crime.

Daria Dugina is Alexander Dugin's daughter from his second marriage. Born in 1992, she graduated from the Philosophy Department of Moscow State University and worked as a political observer for the International Eurasian Movement. Darya Dugina has maintained a political TV-channel and appeared as an expert in TV shows on Rossiya Channel and Channel One.

Alexander Dugin is known for his ideas of "Eurasianism," the creation of a superpower through the integration of Russia with the former Soviet republics. Dugin is on the sanctions list of the European Union, the United States, and Canada.
