The Petrozavodsk city court of the Republic of Karelia issued an order to terminate the administrative case under p.1 Article 16.2 of the Code of Administrative Offences of the Russian Federation "Illegal movement of goods and (or) international transport vehicles across the customs border of the Customs Union" against a large Russian holding involved in the export of timber abroad.
Denis Rudenko, Head of Customs Law Practice, RI-Consulting Law Office, managed to prove to the court not only the absence of corpus delicti, imputed by the Customs of the Republic of Karelia, but also, in fact, the absence of the very event of an administrative offense, which is a fairly rare case in the termination of this category of cases.
