It is often customary in law firms to celebrate colleagues’ birthdays and other holidays. But some firms also have unusual traditions. Read more about these and other memorable traditions in PRAVO.RU’s article. Elena Gladysheva, Advocate and Managing Partner, tells about corporate culture traditions at RI-Consulting Law Firm.
“What does it mean to run a company successfully? A law firm is tantamount to an archaic system, which can only be managed with the help of a clearly defined and formed internal culture and it largely determines the uniqueness and competitiveness of the company.
Working conditions in many competitive law firms are the same, so employees may occasionally leave for competitors. But one of the advantages of our Company has been the high level of internal culture. A comfortable, friendly work environment is a way to gain employees’ loyalty, and an effective internal corporate culture has significantly reduced recruitment costs.
At our Company, the corporate culture is dynamic and it changes over time. It is natural that new team members not only absorb the company values but also contribute their own. Thus, there is a tradition at our Company – the life should be such, that the way to achievements should be interesting and team members should enjoy the implemented changes and motivation, not only the material remuneration.
Our Advocates and employees have historically participated in regattas and are passionate about sailing. We hold our own regatta every year at different locations. A corporate regatta is a unique format of an event which combines active leisure in the open air with elements of effective teambuilding, allowing you to discover new reserves and find an original approach to motivating your team. Sport yachting is a great opportunity to switch over, to have a rest outside of a megapolis, discover each participant’s potential, learn to understand team members at a glance, spend more time with health benefits recharging with the energy of wind and water, taking unforgettable positive emotions.
No experience is required to participate in the corporate regatta! All it takes is the desire to step abroad a yacht. Sailing does not require any outstanding physical training and makes no distinction between men and women, no requirements for experience or age. All are equal on board. All members of the same team are united by one goal: to win!
In general, I will say that sailing brings people together, and I think it has such constructive values that make many people better. Sailing allows us to strengthen teamwork, strive for the result and healthy competition in the team. By holding regattas, we not only take a break from ‘working with our mind’ but also continue to form a healthy psychological atmosphere in the team. Everyone is equal on board and everyone is important, just as in the legal profession. If you lose a team member (due to attrition, laziness, lack of desire), the whole ‘boat’ loses. The main thing is that after the competition, everyone feels himself as an important part of the team,” the Advocate says.
